Microsoft Policy on IP Protection in China
Microsoft policy on IP protection involves three strategies: Education, Engineering and Enforcement. On education, Microsoft has carried out many activities i.e. implementation of the IP policies, identification of authentic software by providing training to sales staff, etc. Engineering increased investment to help customers, consumer and partners to avoid the harm of pirated software, and to improve the management of software assets and their authorization. Education has also assisted law enforcement organizations to identify authentic software, differentiate pirated software and to prepare evidence in judicial system. In addition, Microsoft also assisted the government and law enforcement departments to take measures against pirated software.
On the road to software copyrighting, Microsoft stressed upon the use of
Authentic Software which represents three factors viz. safety, stability and reputation, all over China. Implementation of these factors has supported the Chinese government efforts for the protection of software IPR and for the encouragement of proprietary innovation to promote other large state-owned enterprises that really play essential roles in industrial development and are main players in China's economy. The progress of copyrighting was another achievement for copyright protection by pre-installing authentic operating systems on computers by Microsoft.
