Trademark Registration Processing - Qatar
Under the directives of the Qatari Ministry of Economy and Commerce, the Trademark Registrar announced that with effect from March 27, 2007, the trademark registration cases will be prosecuted speedly in order to complete all pending applications in a short period of time. The Trademark Office has extended its working hours in order to speed up the processing.
In view of the above, all pending trademark applications which are 10,000 in number are expected to be examined and completed within 6 to 8 months. In addition, all newly filed trademark applications will be processed within a time frame of 8 to 12 months, instead of 3 to 5 years as was the case previously.
