The US Patents & Trade Marks Office (USPTO) will issue notices to applicants or their authorized counsel via email with regard to office action in Trademark Docufment Retrieval. Separate emails with attached office actions will no longer be sent.
According to USPTO, the new system will benefit both applicants and the Office. In the past, problems arose from sending Office Actions that issued with voluminous evidence. When sending an email with one of these office actions, the USPTO had to divide the office action and evidence into separate emails. Under the new system, the office action and evidence will be in one file available through TDR. The USPTO has not yet given the date for this change in practice.
